A Concert in Honor of the Assunta
On Sunday, October 9, 2022, as part of Save Venice’s 50th Anniversary Gala Celebrations, an evening concert took place at the Basilica dei Frari to honor the completion of the four-year conservation campaign of Titian’s Assunta.
Illuminated on the high altar, the newly restored masterpiece provided a breathtaking backdrop for the performance. The concert, sponsored by Allen and Diane de Olazarra, featured the exquisite voice of Helen Charlston, mezzo-soprano (appearing by arrangement with Rayfield Allied), accompanied by Tim Ribchester on harpsichord and organ, creating a magical evening of music and art in perfect harmony.
